On the SMS tab of a profile, you can configure the SMS messages sent to your customers. You can customize separate SMS per type — and customize each one per language.

SMS sending must be enabled in your Twikey environment before use. Contact us if this option is not yet activated.

Editing an SMS template

  1. Navigate to Settings in the left-hand navigation menu.
  2. Open the Profiles tab.
  3. Select the profile you want to configure.
  4. Open the SMS tab.
  5. Select the SMS message you want to edit from the list.
  6. Click Edit at the bottom of the phone screen.
  7. Update the content of the message.
  8. Click Save.

Only users with the Administrator role or higher can update the content of an SMS template.

SMS variables

Each SMS type supports a specific set of variables. The info icon shows the variables supported for that specific SMS type.

VariableDescription
{{link}}The URL to the signing or payment page
{{number}}Invoice number
{{duedate}}Date the invoice is due
{{amount}}Payment amount
{{name}}Your company name
One SMS message consists of 160 characters. If your text exceeds this limit, a warning '> 1 sms' is displayed, meaning the message will be sent (and billed) as multiple text messages. Keep this in mind when using variables, since these are converted to their actual value before the message is sent and may add more characters than expected.

SMS message types

The SMS tab lists the following SMS types. Each one can be edited and personalized per language, independently from its e-mail equivalent.
