You can import a wide range of data into Twikey, including customers, agreements, subscriptions, transactions, payment links, and invoices. This article walks you through the import process step by step. For every import type, you'll find a dedicated help article that explains the required fields in detail.
To ensure a successful import, it’s important to use our templates exactly as provided. The headers must match perfectly — both in name and order — otherwise the import will fail. When an import fails you'll be informed by mail with the error detail list.
Below, you’ll find an overview of all import types, each with a link to the corresponding help article and its template file. By following these templates and guidelines, you can import your data smoothly and make full use of Twikey’s capabilities.
You can access the import function anywhere in your Twikey environment.
Click the button at the top of the page and select Import.
Each dedicated module also includes an import option. Using it will automatically redirect you to the global import screen with the correct import type preselected. For detailed instructions on importing specific data types (customers, transactions, etc.), refer to the related help articles.
Maximum file size
CSV uploads are limited to 200 KB.
If your file exceeds this size, you’ll need to split it before importing.
You can also update existing data via the import function. A common approach is to export the current data, adjust the necessary fields, and then import the file again.
The complexity of updates depends on the fields you change. Some fields can be updated directly, while others create new entries instead of modifying existing ones. Each import type has a dedicated article explaining what can be safely updated and what will trigger new records.
Example:
Updating the description of a subscription will cancel the existing subscription and create a new one.
